August 13th - Lunch at The Cricketers Arms, Rickling Green
We met at The Cricketers Arms and parked up in what we thought was our own little enclave - picking up our first American mystery guest of the day (and his silver ///M Roadster - but he declined to join us for lunch or the drive afterwards!!) Not a bad turnout, 6 911s:
and 3 (almost 4) BMW Z3s:
and our family 540:
We made our way up to Audley End House for a cheeky photostop outside the house where Mr David Miles was right-royally told off for timewasting by the staff!!
From there we took a rather speedy route to Castle Hedingham. Unfortunately we lost a plethora of 993s but John & Gay showed some true grit by showing up unexpectedly at the destination a bit later!! Along the way we picked up our second mystery American of the day; but this time he decided to join in and followed our route to the Castle where he introduced himself - nice to meet you Marcus (Midnight Blue US Spec C4S with new Valentine One installed). This was also where John & Gay caught us up and met us for a drink before the drive home.
Many thanks to Sean and Tim Proctor and his staff at The Cricketers Arms for looking after us so well and to the weather for making it such a great day for driving!
Below are a couple of links to the route we were supposed to take but I left it at home and just made it up on the day - nearly got away with it until we got lost at Sible Hedingham. Still, its not the same without a convoy of Porsches and BMWs doing multiple u-turns!!

Big thanks to David Miles for supplying these maps - sorry I never used them!
